DON McDOUGALL LAWYER

I have been acting for and advising the liquor, gaming and commercial property industries in New South Wales for over 30 years.

My clients include hoteliers, pub and bar owners, liquor store owners, restaurateurs, nightclub owners, motel owners, registered clubs, liquor suppliers, gaming suppliers and property developers, who range in size from individual business people to public companies.

I act for vendors and purchasers, lessors and lessees, mortgagors and mortgagees of licensed businesses, licensed premises and gaming assets.

I act in and advise on freehold and leasehold transactions involving all types of licensed commercial property.

Frequently, those transactions will include a gaming component, and I act in and advise on that component, simultaneously with the related property transaction.

I also advise on the duty and GST aspects of these transactions.

I act in and advise on a broad range of liquor and gaming applications.

I advise and guide individuals, business owners, family companies and groups through commercial disputes and succession planning issues.

Also, I act as agent for and consultant to other professionals, including lawyers, accountants, architects and town planners who seek advice on the liquor and gaming components of their transactions and projects.

I was a partner in a major Sydney law firm in its Commercial Property and Liquor Licensing Group, and I have been sole practitioner since 1997.

As required, I work in conjunction with an associated law firm, Carneys Lawyers, and can engage its resources in relation to aspects of matters which require additional professional and para-legal support, in particular commercial litigation.

I am a member of the Law Society of NSW and of the Law Society of NSW Scheme.
